Why this camp?

Unmatched Training Environment

Dominica is one of the premier freediving destinations in the world, and once you experience it, you’ll understand why. The bay offers calm, protected waters with no waves, no current, and exceptional visibility. We will train on a permanent platform equipped with a counter-ballast system and access to unlimited depth, all just a short swim from shore. It's a dream setup for progressing your dives with safety, comfort, and consistency.

The Right People, The Right Energy

This camp is built for certified freedivers who are ready to go deeper - not just in the water, but in their overall freediving experience. We keep our coach-to-student ratio low (no more than 3:1) so that every session is tailored to you. Whether your goals are technical, mental, or simply to reconnect with your love of diving, you’ll be supported every step of the way.

Beyond the Line

This isn’t just a training trip - it’s an immersion. You’ll share meals, sunsets, laughter, and stories with other divers who care about the same things you do. You’ll explore the island’s waterfalls, hot springs, and wild beauty. And you’ll return home with not just better dives, but a deeper connection to yourself, the ocean, and your freediving journey.

About Dominica

Nicknamed the “Nature Island of the Caribbean,” Dominica is a volcanic island known for its untouched beauty, lush rainforests, and dramatic landscapes. It’s not your typical Caribbean destination - there are no big resorts or crowded beaches here. Instead, you’ll find hidden waterfalls, natural hot springs, vibrant marine life, and a welcoming local culture that values simplicity, sustainability, and connection to the land and sea. For freedivers, the conditions are near perfect - warm, clear water, protected bays, and dramatic underwater drop-offs.

About Soufrière

Soufrière is a small, colorful village on Dominica’s southwest coast, nestled between the green hills and the sea. It’s known for its calm bay (a marine reserve ideal for snorkeling and diving), laid-back energy, and breathtaking sunsets. Life here is simple and quiet (unless there is a festival!). Local fishermen haul in their catch, and the pace of life invites you to slow down and breathe. It’s a place where you’ll quickly feel like part of the community, whether you're cooking dinner with your new friends, soaking in a seaside hot spring, or enjoying the peaceful rhythm of the island.

About Your Team

This camp is led by Anastasia Devana, freediving coach and national record holder, known for her calm presence and highly personalized coaching style. With experience training everyone from beginners to elite athletes, she brings both deep expertise and a grounded, supportive energy to every session.

Our camp photographer, Allie Reilly, is a freediver, marine wildlife guide, and a visual storyteller who captures the quiet magic of the underwater world. You’ll come away with stunning group photos - and if you’d like, a chance to book a private photo session for truly personal memories.

We’re also partnering with Blue Element Freediving, Dominica’s premier freediving school. Their top-tier facilities and platform will be our training home, and additional experienced instructors from their team will join us - keeping the coach-to-diver ratio low, and the support high.

FAQs

  • No, but you should be a certified freediver. Our experienced coaches will tailor the training to all levels. However, if you can already dive to at least 20 meters, you will likely get the most out of the training conditions. If you aren’t sure, just reach out and we can assess together!

  • Island-style and simple. Think clean and comfortable. There’s a mix of private and shared rooms, and early registrants get first pick. You’ll be staying steps from the water, with ocean or mountain views and access to a shared kitchen.

  • The simplest way is to take a direct flight from Miami (MIA) to Dominica (DOM). But there are also connecting flights that you can pick from. We can help suggest routes and connect you with others arriving around the same time for shared transfers.

  • Yes - airport transfers are included, but only if you arrive on February 20th and depart on March 1st. If you plan to arrive earlier or leave later, we can arrange transfers for an additional fee.

  • No, a car is not necessary. Most places you'll visit and activities are within walking distance or can be reached via arranged transportation. But if you want extra freedom to explore on your own, car rentals are available on the island. Just keep in mind that Dominica has left-side driving and lots of mountains, so driving can be a little stressful for visitors.

  • Soufrière Village is quite hilly, so be prepared for walking up and down some hills. Comfortable shoes and a reasonable level of fitness will make this easier.

  • The two sightseeing excursions on non-diving days are included in the package but are totally optional. You can choose to relax instead, snorkel in Soufrière Bay with a buddy, work out at the gym, soak in the natural hot springs, or simply do nothing at all.

  • You’ll need to bring all your own freediving gear — wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, weights, lanyard, etc. We’ll send a complete packing list after registration.

  • Absolutely. Just let us know - we’re happy to connect you with local contacts for accommodation extensions or additional adventures.

  • We provide breakfast daily and lunch on dive days. Dinners are up to you - some nights we will cook together as a group, or you can explore nearby local food options. There’s a full kitchen and a small grocery store nearby. When we pick you up from the airport, we will also stop at a grocery store.

  • Yes! The camp package includes group photos and videos. And you can add a one-on-one photo session with our local professional photographer for $180 per person. So take advantage of the scenic backdrop!

  • Yes. All participants are required to carry dive accident insurance (such as DAN or an equivalent provider) for the duration of the camp. It’s affordable and easy to sign up - we’ll send you a link after registration if you don’t have it yet.

We also highly recommend purchasing travel insurance, as the trip cost becomes non-refundable one month before the camp start date. Travel insurance can help protect you in case of unexpected changes, delays, or emergencies.

  • The $500 deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel more than a month before the camp, the deposit can be applied as a credit to future trips or training. The remainder is due one month before the camp, and cancellations after that are non-refundable unless we can fill your spot. We recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers unexpected changes.
